The Rankings are in and there is a lot of movement this week with some new faces! Check it out:
Xaverian (2) – With a win over Chelmsford and a tie with Malden Catholic, Xaverian moves one spot up to take over first place in the state.
Arlington (7) – Arlington has only one loss on the season despite playing one of the harder public-school schedules in the state. This is good enough for second place in the rankings this week.
St. John’s Prep (6) – The Eagles have been bouncing up and down all year in the rankings. The last few weeks however, have been a steady climb. They are up to third after a tie against Catholic Memorial and a big win over Austin Prep.
Canton (4) – Canton still remains unbeaten as their crazy streak lives on.
BC High (5) – The Eagles are steady at fifth this week. They are coming off of a 4 to 1 victory over Catholic Memorial.
Pope Francis (9) – Pope Francis is another team that has been on a steady climb in the rankings this month. Last week they recorded wins over St. John’s (S) and Andover.
St. Mary’s Lynn (1) – A big fall for St. Mary’s after holding onto the top spot in the rankings. They are 1-2-1 in their past four games with a win over Newburyport in their most recent game.
Catholic Memorial (3) – CM is a crazy 0-1-3 in their past four games, hurting their win total at this point in the year. All those ties come against good teams, but it will make it harder to grab a Super 8 bid with a record of 6-4-5 right now.
Hingham (12) – Hingham is climbing back up after stumbling a little bit in the beginning of the season. They have not lost a game since January 11th against Burlington. Since then they are 3-0-2 with their last win coming against Duxbury.
Framingham (11) – Framingham is up to 10 wins on the season after defeating Walpole 2-1. They are undefeated in the Bay State Carey league so far.
Burlington (8) – Burlington has cooled down after their crazy winning streak. They have lost their past two games, but will look to get back in the win column against Belmont in their next game.
Hopkinton (13) – Hopkinton is 12-0-0 as their impressive season rolls on. It is so hard to avoid any setback this far into the season. Hopkinton will be a heavy favorite in the division three tournament.
Braintree (17) – Braintree is slowly improving their seeding in the D1 south tournament as they have four wins in a row and sit with nine wins on the season.
Austin Prep (10) – Austin Prep has been back and forth as of recent with a record of 2-2-0 in their past four games. They play Lowell Catholic next.
Reading (18) – Reading is up three spots this week as they are back to their winning ways into the second half of the season. They are a crazy 5-0-3 in their past eight games as they still have a shot at the Super 8 with only three losses on the season.
Shrewsbury (20) – With only two losses on the year, Shrewsbury is making a case that they should be one of the top teams in the D1 south tournament.
Duxbury (16) – Duxbury is 2-1-0 since their Green Cup victory with the loss coming to Hingham.
Marshfield (NR) – Marshfield is back in the rankings this week. They have not lost a game since January 11th and are coming off of a big win over Plymouth North.
Barnstable (19) – Barnstable holds an impressive 7-3-2 record at the moment and will look to add to that as they play Scituate next.
Melrose (NR) – Melrose is a team I have had my eyes on all year and they have finally turned a corner to having a winning record. They have four wins in a row and play a tough schedule. If they can get into the tournament, they will be a tough out.
Best of the rest: Central Catholic, Malden Catholic St. John’s (S), Natick, King Philip
